All glory to God for His faithfulness to me, and His power at work in my life and the lives of the people here in Cambodia over the past two years. I thought it was about time to do some freshening up of this site.
May this be a tool for you to feel closer to me, as most of you reading this are about 10 thousand miles away. I especially hope you enjoy the videos I’m able to post from time to time. Please make use of the links to the right to explore other sites such as for World Team.
My teammates and I have a ministry of grassroots church planting and discipleship. We also have social ministry through a literacy classroom for children who normally are turned away from the government school system. The awesome part about that is the kids are able to learn the Bible at school! Through generous and loving partners in the US, we are able to meet needs such as medicine, home repairs, rice distribution in times of physical disaster, and education sponsorships for promising students.
It’s exciting to see God working in and raising up local leaders and giving them the ability, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to shepherd the flock of God here. It’s now extending to a neighboring village as well. God seems to be fast -tracking us to working ourselves out of a job here, and on to the next! My particular current role is mainly as a learner – of language, of God’s ways and what He wants to do in me, of the culture here. At the same time, I’m building friendships with women and young people, and growing with them as they learn from God’s Word. Learning a foreign languages is excellent turf for building patience, longsuffering, perseverance, flexibility, humility…although it seems I need to keep learning those lessons, so God has me learning two foreign languages, not just one!
A word about the title “Living Fields”: Some people may be familiar with the movie title “The Killing Fields”. This was a film that came out in the early 80′s about the Khmer Rouge regime ruling Cambodia between 1975-1979. During that time, an estimated 3 million Cambodians were killed, including many educated people, those who served in the military — and 80% of the Christians. I chose the title “Living Fields” because Cambodia is a now a land that is ripe for the Gospel. This fact is testified to in the lives of my new brothers and sisters in Christ!
About the lush, green rice field you see pictured in the header: This is a photo I snapped in my travels in Asia, and is symbolic of the transformation in the hearts of people who turn to Christ in faith – from death to life, mourning to dancing, and from ashes to beauty.

Hi Amy,
You are so talented. For being bare bones the web site is looking good. Even though we haven’t had much time together i feel an exceptional closeness to you. You know it’s one thing to not see someone, but you know you can, but to know someone and not be able to see them is different — I will miss you — stay safe and well.
Your forever friend,
Bonnie

Hello Amy,
This is a voice from the past. You probably don’t remember us but we were your neighbors when you lived on Elmshade road as a girl. My name is Todd, my wife’s name is Lisa. My two older children, Benjamin and Alyssa use to play with you and your sisters at times. We were good friends with your mom and dad. I have been a pastor here in Wisconsin for over twenty years, seventeen at the same church. What a blessing to observe what God is doing in your life. My son Ben is in Cairo, Egypt this summer living and ministering in a Sudanese refugee camp. My daughter Alyssa spent last summer in the Philippines working in an orphanage, and my two younger children (Chris & Catie)will soon be leaving for a short term missions endeavor in Puerto Rico. What a praise to our God in how He allows us to serve Him. I first heard of your ministry through John Dienhart, and will now pray for you. If we, as a church, can somehow be a blessing to you please let us know.
In His Care,
Bro. Todd

I have just found your site, Amy. I am so happy that we will be able to follow your journey in Cambodia. I watched your video and it brought tears to my eyes. That quiet, shy, but always smiling girl I had in band has turned into a beautiful, talented Crusader for Christ! God certainly knew what He was doing when He chose you to bring the Word to these people. Thank you and praise God for your continued service to Him!
My love and blessings to you!
